Weekly Curriculum Overview:

Week 1 — Developing a Leadership Mindset
This week focuses on understanding the change from being an individual contributor to an emerging leader, identifying beliefs, mindsets, and habits that help or block leadership readiness.

Week 2 — Self-Awareness & Emotional Intelligence:
Learn how emotions, triggers, strengths, and blind spots affect your influence; enhance your understanding and self-management skills.

Week 3 — Clear Communication
Focusing on understanding our communication habits and trying new communication methods that boost clarity, confidence, and presence.

Week 4 — Building Trust & Credibility
Discussing actions that create trust and credibility; finding ways to demonstrate reliability, integrity, and consistency in everyday work.

Week 5 — Leading Without Authority
Understanding how to influence others, build partnerships, and create connections and alignment as a leader, even when you don’t have formal power.

Week 6 — Decision-Making & Problem-Solving
Recognizing personal decision-making habits, becoming more comfortable with uncertainty, and building confidence to evaluate situations and take responsibility.

Week 7 — Conflict Skills & Tough Talks
Understanding personal conflict habits; developing courage, emotional stability, and clear communication in difficult situations.

Week 8 — Strategic Thinking at Any Level
Learning to see beyond tasks to understand the bigger picture; developing the skill to recognize patterns, anticipate needs, and think more broadly.

Looking at how you respond to uncertainty; discussing traits like resilience, adaptability, and leadership that help teams stay strong during change.

Exploring how we present ourselves, defining our leadership identity, and considering the messages conveyed through our behavior, communication, and consistency.

Defining goals and steps; finding actions that show readiness; learning how to express ambitions and seek opportunities.

Emerging Leaders Program

The program is designed for new managers, newly promoted up to 2 years of leadership experience, navigating the transition from individual contributor to people leader or wishing to increase their leadership capacity, focusing on trust-building, communication, and the foundational skills required to lead a healthy, high-performing team.

We’ll start with the Mattone Leadership Enneagram Instrument (MLEI) – a leadership self-assessment to identify your strengths and opportunities, and leverage structured reflection tools and a detailed leadership development plan. Over the program, you will gain self-awareness, identify your specific goals, and create a development plan on which you’ll have an opportunity to learn and practice those particular skills with peer group support.

This program will help you:

  • Strengthen confidence as a people leader
  • Build trust and credibility with your team
  • Improve communication, feedback, and delegation
  • Develop a leadership approach that feels grounded and sustainable

Week 1: The Leadership Evolution — From Contributor to Leader
You’ll explore the shift from doing the work to leading the work and begin stepping into a stronger leadership identity. You’ll examine how your confidence is evolving, how to navigate changing dynamics with former peers, and what it means to show up as the leader your team needs.

Week 2: Understanding Your Strengths & Opportunities
Leveraging the Mattone Leadership Enneagram Instrument (MLEI self-assessment and 1:1 debrief this week, you’ll gain deeper insight into your leadership tendencies, patterns, and potential derailers so you can lead with greater self-awareness, intentionality, and confidence in your strengths.

Week 3: The Trust Accelerator — Earning Respect and Building Credibility
You’ll reflect on how your daily behaviors build trust and credibility and explore practical ways to demonstrate reliability, fairness, consistency, and integrity as a new leader.

Week 4: Communication Mastery — Feedback, Coaching, and Crucial Conversations
You’ll strengthen your communication with clarity, confidence, and composure. You’ll learn how to hold performance conversations early, communicate expectations that build accountability, coach instead of solve, and enter difficult conversations with steadiness and purpose.

Week 5: Effective Delegation — The Art of Empowering Teams While Managing Workload
You’ll explore your relationship with control and learn to delegate in ways that empower your team, create ownership, support development, and reduce overwhelm without resorting to micromanagement.

Week 6: Navigating Complexity — Decision-Making and Problem-Solving for New Leaders
You’ll understand your natural decision-making tendencies and strengthen your ability to take thoughtful risks, make decisions with incomplete information, and lead with confidence even when the path ahead isn’t clear.

Week 7: Building Your Personal Development Plan

Week 9: Situational Leadership — Flexing Your Leadership Capabilities
